I completely understand the plight of the American trucker, as I was one at one time. I have a brother who is currently an OTR driver. I know that when gas prices go up, especially diesel, delivery costs go up and the end user pays for it, thus causing inflation in our economy. Our government has done very little to alleviate the excessive regulations and rules that truck drivers have to adhere to. The proposed 5-minute idle is again another ridiculous rule being shoved down the truck drivers throat. This is a case in point that the legislators do not have a clue of the truckers lifestyle and they have been in their "ivory towers" too long and have lost touch with part of Americana.
