High diesel costs lead state to extend truck registration

West Virginia trucking firms will be able to delay purchasing new registrations on their vehicles for two months because of the high costs of diesel fuel.

Gov. Joe Manchin’s office made the extension announcement today, saying it will give state-based trucking firms until Sept. 1 to be re-registered, rather than July 1.

“The cost of gasoline has had a profound effect on our economy and is hitting everybody’s wallets,” Manchin said in a news release. “But to our truckers, the cost of diesel fuel is even higher and it’s directly affecting their ability to stay in business.”  More from the Sunday Gazette Mail

Thanks, West Virginia….  every little bit helps at this point…
