Professional, Polite, Prepared to Kill

DUMAS — Following the completion of environmental impact studies, the Southeast Arkansas Intermodal Authority has been preparing to advertise for construction bids to develop infrastructure for the proposed intermodal facility near Monticello.

John Lipton, Southeast Arkansas Cornerstone Coalition president, discussed the proposed facility during a coalition meeting in Dumas Wednesday.

“We are getting ready to start advertising for bids for an access road into the facility and a side track. We will also be looking at water and sewer improvements,” Lipton said.

The intermodal facility is planned to be a transportation hub allowing interchange between various modes of transportation including rail, river barge, highway and pipeline, said Lipton. It would also be a warehousing and distribution site. More from the Pine Bluff Commercial
