Fisher-Price’s “Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle and Coo” doll delivers surprising message

You have to wonder how this got through the manufacturer – and who put that recording on dolls being sold to unsuspecting parents and children across the country.  According to, the markings on the box give no warning to the message the doll delivers.

Contact information for Fisher Price/Mattel is Consumer Relations –  ” The Fisher Price inquiry number on the doll’s box is 1-800-524-8697.

  22. I have played these messages for plenty of others and haven’t found anyone who can identify the message BEFORE I tell them what it supposedly says. If this is really the way a religion chooses to get it’s message out, it’s a lot of effort with very little payback. This reminds me of all the albums that are supposed to have satanic messages when you played them backwards. The power of suggestion is a powerful thing indeed…

  23. It’s pretty obvious that this is a baby doll that makes noises that could sound like just about anything. One woman hears what sounds like something to her and it spirals out of control from there. Now people are wanting to hear “evil” stuff coming from it and then they hear it.

So, now we have people calling for the head of an executive (who probably didn’t even know about the toy to begin with) based solely on what people think they hear amongst the gibberish when it its isn’t really clear.

I know that people that come to sites like this do so, not because they want to be rational and think about issues like this, but instead come here to exclaim how everything non-christian and non-american is completely evil. I know its not as much fun to think about things instead of yelling about how angry you are about…well…everything. But come on…this is a non-issue..look at the people in the news report. Is that really the people you want leading your cause?

Comment by Rational Minded | October 12, 2008 | Reply

  24. In response to the previous comment, this doll does not make noises that sound like just about anything. It says it very clear, instead of insisting that it is a bunch of gibberish, why don’t you check it out for yourself. It took me one time to listen to my daughters doll and heard it right then. It says exactly what they are implying, go to your local toy store and see for yourself. And that goes for anyone else out there that doesn’t believe it! Who cares about what the people look like in the news report, they are human and American, when does it matter what the people look like compared to what the issue really is here?

  26. There are so many of you that are “right on” with this idea of Islam trying to force their ideas on we Americans. I’m telling you if someone does not stand up and fight them we will not have the freedoms that we are privileged to have. You all must see “Obsession, the Movie” if you want to see and know the facts of what Islam is all about. It will shock you what they teach their own children from the time they are born. Please take the time to watch this video before you vote on our next President. We need a president who is willing to fight for our freedom…Remember George Washington…he was a rich man but he left his family and actually insisted on fighting himself against all odds and do you want to know why he & his troops won? Because he believed in divine providence. They were barefooted for God’s sake…read your history…….and somehow someway they pulled through….That ladies and gentlemen was our first president of the United States of America. I don’t know about you but that is someone who cared deeply for our freedom.
Do you remember Harry Truman? Do you think he enjoyed giving the orders to drop the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaka knowing that hundreds of thousands of innocent people would be killed?….No one in their right man wishes that on anybody….He knew that was the only way because they wouldn’t surrender….at least 1/2 million Americans would have died if he had not made that call.
What about what Hitler was doing to all of the Jews before the American military got involved. What do you think he would have accomplished had we just sit back and watched? My father was their on Normandy on D-Day and he lost many of his brothers in arms. Do you know how the people in the country side of France feels about Americans? I was there in 1989 and I’m telling you that the American flag flies freely everywhere you turn. They are so appreciative of what we did for them…it moves them to tears. I am so grateful that someone in our great nation knew that something had to be done or all of us were doomed. Hitler was not going to stop until he vanquished all races except German from the planet. He believed that the Germans were superior to any race much like Islam and the Muslem religion believed. You need to study what the religion teaches….It will shock you into disbelief. I’m telling you that it does not include any of us here in America.
It is only a matter of time before we are all doomed if we don’t stand up and fight for what we believe in. Those days of looking the other way and living in a dream world are gone…..They are not going to negotiate with us or Obama or anyone else for that matter because of what their religion teaches…Their way is the only way and that is what they teach their children from the time that they are born….They teach them to hate us and what we stand for. They call us infidels and stupid.
I’m telling you my fellow Americans, Our time is precious……We need to act NOW….
I don’t know why the liberals don’t see what is coming.
I just want to keep trying to help them see that there is something worth fighting for and that is OUR FREEDOM.
Please join me in reaching out to anyone and everyone that you can. Today is all we have so let’s do the best that we can. Let’s fight for FREEDOM so that our founding forefathers did not fight in vain.

I am sick of liberals, Islam, Obama and all of the “social justice” programs in our country today. You are like alot of the Democrats..You feel if you scream loud enough and call someone a racist that it makes it true. That argument doesn’t work on me or with alot of other people. Oh and by the way, they don’t call themselves “colored people” anymore, it is African-American (watch it you are not being politically correct). 37. When I was young and first learning in middle school of the Salem Witch Trials, I often thought to myself “what gibbering fools the Puritans must have been to succumb to such ridiculous hysteria” and later, in high school, similarly wondered in horrible disbelief at a population that so readily subscribed to the Nazi ideal, a belief system that eventually lead to one of the most terrible chapters in modern history. I believe now that we know what sorts of people these were. Many of them call themselves Social Conservatives, and Christians, and Americans. They live next door to you. Their children sit next to yours and mine in school. But their defining purpose, unlike we who can accept and even celebrate the differences of our neighbors, is to propagate fear and animosity and prejudice of anyone even vaguely unlike themselves. They commit this tragic disservice in the name of their god or draped in the flag of their country, and it both saddens and confuses me that such individuals and I could be of the same species. I am embarrassed by it and them as an American, and angered by it as a human being. Control yourselves. Be adults for once in your sad misguided lives. Attempt some basic form of humanity. I don’t think it’s really that much to ask.

  38. JOhnM, I am glad that you have never been touched/violated by other people and that you can have that Rodney King know the “can’t we all just get along”. It has been this way since the beginning of time and it will be this way in the end. Your quote “Many of them call themselves Social Conservatives, and Christians, and Americans. They live next door to you. Their children sit next to yours and mine in school. But their defining purpose, unlike we who can accept and even celebrate the differences of our neighbors, is to propagate fear and animosity and prejudice of anyone even vaguely unlike themselves” is a very foolish way to describe Christians. You should be glad that Christians care to sit down next to you or live next door to you. Christians are the most kindest and caring people you would want to know. They just have a message they have to spread and that message is about Jesus and th saving grace of Christ. Now if you don’t like that message then I would say that is your problem. Have you noticed that Christians are the only people being jabbed at? You have done it in your letter. But I really feel sorry for you because your post is just a rambling mess. Don’t really know who you are jabbing at!

You have the freedom to write anything you want but it sounds to me that you live in a cocoon and not in the real world. Only a person who lives in a fantasy world would write what you have. YOU SAID, ” it both saddens and confuses me that such individuals and I could be of the same species. I am embarrassed by it and them as an American.” JohnM, why don’t you grow up and open your eyes and ears for that matter. You are blatantly laying the blame on Christians. If you don’t like living next door to Christians or have your children sitting next to one in school then might I suggest you leave the country and live next to a Muslim and see how that fits?

Her doll was programmed to say “Islam is the light”, and it was well articulated..not a coo!! Walmart has been wonderful about getting the dolls off of the shelves. The socially challenged personnel at Fisher-Price that we’ve spoken to thus far haven’t had any answers for us and are in no hurry to find them. 46. I have heard several of these dolls and the videos. They all are the same. There is a two and 1/2 cycles of cooing and then the doll blurts out “Islam is the light”. It is not mindless babble. It was recorded this way.
My wife called Fisher-Price and they say they have ordered the dolls to be removed but several of the stores do not confirm this policy. In fact she was told by one store that they were not to remove them. We are waiting for official verification before we call Fisher-Price again.
We need to stand up and make sure this is stopped. What would the outrage be if there was a doll with a message that says, “Jesus is the light”? The ACLU would have a field day and people would be suing because their child was exposed to such a radical view.

It is someone’s way of pushing Islam and if we complain we are intolerant. I don’t have to be tolerant of a world view (and yes a radical religious view) that wants to force (yes-force under penalty of death) all people to to convert to its way of thinking. Jesus Christ offers us a choice – yes to follow Him or not to follow Him – but we still have a choice and nobody is going to threaten or intimidate us.

  47. If the manufacturer confirms that this doll was actually programed to say, “Islam is the Light” thereby catering to and promoting a particular religion to a general audience -without clear notice on packaging and related marketing materials then it should be pulled for reasons beyond those related to ones like or dislike of the particular religion mentioned.

Regardless of personal opinion, certainly this issue should be investigated, clarified beyond doubt and the appropriate action taken.

I almost feel like filing a complaint to Fisher-Price for stoking the flames of anger and hatred in a certain mindset of my fellow Americans and human beings. Fisher-Price didn’t build the fire but unwittingly added some logs!

The side-effect is the production of fear, anxiety and mistrust -on both sides which is what my heart was increasingly filled with as I read through the comments on this page even though I have never met any of you and you have never met me -as far as we know!

I say this as a born and raised American whose ancestors help build this country with their bare hands, who’s an Orthodox Muslim, who is the proud son of an Army Mom, the nephew of a Big Rig Trucker, whose cousin died in one of the twin towers on 9-11 and who would rather hear that “Islam is the Light” from an upright human being than a doll with a blank stare.

Pull the doll and keep truckin’

  48. In regards to “Obsession” , I saw that film over a year ago and it can and has been countered and responded to well by the scholastic Muslim community here in the states. One insightful example of that can be read here by anyone willing to listen…–Reza%20Kazemi.pdf

I say that while stating without doubt that there were things said and done by certain “Muslims” in that film that need to be fought against with mouth AND fist -by Muslims themselves and I am committed to that, but to believe that those extreme and “obsessed” voices represent the majority would mean that Hitler’s tactics are working again.

Terrorism by any individual, group, state or country is WRONG plain and simple.

As a person involved in video production, I can tell you in all honesty that I could produce a film like that about “radical” Christians, Jews, Atheists, Secularists -even Muslims that, like “Obsession” contain an indistinguishable mixture of truth, lies and distortion that would be hard to discern by the average TV-educated person.

Unfortunately we only seem to get good press when we’re angry or do something stupid!

  49. One of my favorite passages from the Gospel is when Christ responds to his slanderously enraged interrogators by saying,”Who do you say that I am?” Don’t question me when you’ve already prejudged.

I’ll never forget a frank conversation I had with a city services worker who told me, “After 9-ll, when I’d be riding in my truck, I just wanted to run over anyone who looked Muslim -until I met you.”

In regards to our Founding Fathers and Islam, an interesting summary can be found here…

Sorry to be long folks but my heart was hurtin’ and a lot of the issues touched upon in this thread are nuanced and deserve a more researched and balanced treatment than can be done in a comment section of a blog.

Know that there are countless Muslims who -like myself are trying to fight jihad against the enemy within our own selves and within our own community who need allies in fighting the “good” fight.

It’s ok to not like me but don’t hate my humanity.
