Poll: John McCain, Barack Obama locked in a statistical dead-heat in Florida

With only two weeks remaining in the race for the White House, John McCain and Barack Obama are locked in a statistical dead-heat in the key battleground state of Florida, according to the latest statewide poll conducted for the Orlando Sentinel.

In the intense race for the state’s 27 electoral votes, McCain holds a slight edge over Obama, 46 percent to 45 percent, in the survey released today by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. With a margin of error of 4 percentage points, however, that means either man could win Florida if the election were held today.

Both campaigns are spending a lot of money and time in Florida — with Obama having just finished a two-day swing through the state and McCain planning an appearance here on Thursday.

In a Mason-Dixon poll earlier this month, Obama held a 48-46 percent lead — still within the poll’s margin of error.  From the Orlando Sentinel

  2. If you know any undecided voters, or people who aren’t 100% irrevocably committed to Obama’s camp, you can ask them this simple question: Who is “Good Will”? They will look at you funny, and you can explain how the Obama campaign has disabled address verification on its donation software, enabling annonymous contributions.
