Hillary to head State: Is it constitutional?

By Drew Zahn
© 2008 WorldNetDaily

Barack Obama, it has been reported, intends to announce Sen. Hillary Clinton as his choice for secretary of state, an appointment America’s Founding Fathers forbade in the U.S. Constitution.

The constitutional quandary arises from a clause that forbids members of the Senate from being appointed to civil office, such as the secretary of state, if the “emoluments,” or salary and benefits, of the office were increased during the senator’s term.

The second clause of Article 1, Section 6, of the Constitution reads, “No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office.  More from WorldNetDaily

Not that the Constitution means anything to the Chicago-thug-elect who refuses to produce his birth certificate, college records, medical records or any other documentation that would prove him even eligible for the office he was elected to (but not qualified for).

NEW TOP TEN FUGITIVE – Edward Eugene Harper

Help the FBI catch this pervert.  According to their website:

We need your help finding Edward Eugene Harper. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall; weighs 165 pounds; and has hazel eyes and gray-brown hair. Harper is said to consider himself a member of the extremist group Montana Freemen, and he has family ties in Arkansas. He may go by the names Eddie Eugene Trimue, Eddie Harper, Ed Harmon, or Edward Trimue.

“What’s disturbing about this case,” says Jackson, Mississippi Special Agent Ryan Arton, who has followed leads on Harper around the globe, “is how he has been able to lay so low for 14 years, even after his case was featured on national TV shows like Oprah.” Arton adds, “Harper deserves to be found and returned to DeSoto County, Mississippi, so that justice can be served.”

If you have any information that may be helpful to our investigation, please contact our Jackson office or submit a tip electronically on our website. Harper should be considered dangerous.

Personal Finance: Don’t let Web scams ruin holiday

‘Tis the season for making merry. Or in some cases making mischief, especially on the Web.

Whether you’re shopping online or just checking your personal e-mail, don’t get financially fooled this holiday season.

“In this economy, when we’re all trying to get the most bang for our buck, we’re letting down our guard,” said Parry Aftab, a privacy attorney and the new family Internet safety adviser for McAfee Inc., a computer security firm.

The hectic holidays, when people are hurrying and hunting for bargains, are especially ripe for online ripoffs, experts say.  More HERE

The article lists some good tips on shopping safe during the Christmas season.  There will be the normal scams – Nigerians hoping someone will send them $50 in exchange for millions, phony emails from “PayPal”, “Ebay”, FedEx” and others wanting your bank information to “verify” a non existant purchase or packages you don’t remember ordering.

For truckers, on line ordering is a blessing, as it is for those of us who live far from shopping areas.  It is easy to just point, click and have the latest, greatest “stuff” dropped right at your front door.  As scammers and phishers get more sophisticated, you have to stay one step ahead, although much of it is common sense.  Don’t believe the Nigerians – they will only take all your money.  Chances are, if you get an email from FexEx or UPS saying you have a package waiting that you didn’t order, it is a scam.  Call FedEx or UPS and verify – do NOT give information via the link provided in the email.  If you are a little more “tech savvy” with your email account, you will be able to check the origin of a suspcious email by checking the “full headers” which list, among other important things the FBI will need when you report it, the real email address of the sender.  Most scammers will use a false email to cover their true identiy.

Be cautious of who you shop with on line.  Instead of your Visa, MasterCard or debit card, buy one of those “disposable” credit cards available at truck stops, WalMart and other retailers for your on line shopping.

The only way to be completely safe, of course, is to walk into the store and pay cash.

Enjoy the Christmas holiday season, but be cautious.

Sought: Wal-Mart shoppers who trampled NY worker

NEW YORK (AP) – Police were reviewing video from surveillance cameras in an attempt to identify who trampled to death a Wal-Mart worker after a crowd of post-Thanksgiving shoppers burst through the doors at a suburban store and knocked him down.

Criminal charges were possible, but identifying individual shoppers in Friday’s video may prove difficult, said Detective Lt. Michael Fleming, a Nassau County police spokesman.

Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers stepped over him and became irate when officials said the store was closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.

At least four other people, including a woman who was eight months pregnant, were taken to hospitals for observation or minor injuries. The store in Valley Stream on Long Island closed for several hours before reopening.  More here

I have to ask – what in WalMart is worth murdering for?  In a civilized nation, there is no excuse for acting as savages just to buy the latest video game or Chinese import.

Christmas is a time when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and it saddens me that there are savages who will maim, murder and generally act like idiots in the name of saving a dollar or two.

Somali pirates hijack ship, British guards escape

NAIROBI, Kenya – Somali pirates hijacked a chemical tanker with dozens of Indian crew members Friday and a helicopter rescued three British security guards who had jumped into the sea, officials said.

A warship on patrol nearby sent helicopters to intervene in the attack, but they arrived after pirates had taken control of the Liberian-flagged ship, according to Noel Choong, head of the International Maritime Bureau’s piracy reporting center in Malaysia.

The ship master had sent a distress call to the piracy reporting center, which relayed the alert to international forces policing Somali waters, Choong said. No details about how the pirates attacked or the condition of the crew were available immediately.

Choong said the ship was being operated out of Singapore.  More HERE

As the Giant Falls

It’s been kind of quiet around here lately as the staff here tries to digest what has transpired since the night of the elections. I’ve been at a loss for words and thoughts to put on paper. Our goal is helping to protect the security of this great nation yet I am astounded by the fact that American actually voted Barack Hussein Obama into the highest office in this nation. A Black Muslim is now our president and we can’t even get definitive proof by birth certificate of who he really is.

Our Constitution is no longer readable in a manner that promotes freedom and democracy and our country is up for sale to our enemies. We are in horrific economic times and that places us into a national security night mare as based on previous behaviors, Washington DC will surely sacrifice vital security measures in a feeble effort to appease our enemies at the negotiating table as we parlay or attempt to parlay our way out of our economic descent. Unfortunately, the people with money overseas are not interested in seeing the United States survive this crisis but are instead only concerned with how they can benefit as we crumble. A broke, manipulated, feeble country cannot defend itself.  Read more of Randy Taylor’s insightful analysis HERE

A wider conspiracy

18 November 2008: Currently, there are 17 lawsuits in 12 states that are challenging the eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to become the next President of the United States based, in part, on the true circumstances of his birth. These circumstances include his actual place of birth as well as his status as a naturalized citizen. The latest lawsuit was filed by Alan Keyes, a Presidential candidate in the 2008 election. Documents in PDF format available at this link.

Nonetheless, the corporate media, including the majority of right-wing conservative talk show hosts, continue to dismiss this issue as irrelevant or give this matter only cursory lip service to satisfy the minority of Americans who still care about the rule of law. From Blog commentators to officials elected to uphold and protect the rule of law, the prevailing opinion appears to be that Obama’s eligibility is not a legitimate issue for rational people. The issue represents nothing more than sour political grapes, a red herring, or a distraction from the larger issues.  Read more from Doug Hagmann HERE
