45000 Pounds of Copper Stolen

A flatbed semi tractor-trailer stolen in Sharon turned up in a parking lot in Erie three days later.

But the truck was empty of its valuable load of copper when it was found Nov. 26 at the Quality Inn parking lot, 6467 Sterrettania Road.

The 45,000 pounds of copper is worth more than $100,000, said an executive with Butler Trucking Co.

Butler, based in Woodland, Pa., was transporting the heavy sheets of copper from Chicago to Connecticut when the load was stolen in Sharon on Nov. 23. The truck was locked but running at the time it was stolen. The window was broken out of the truck’s cab.  More HERE
