Wal-Mart truck used to smuggle immigrants

McALLEN, Texas (AP) – Four illegal immigrants were found in the back of a Wal-Mart truck, and the driver and two alleged accomplices were accused of trying to smuggle them through a Border Patrol checkpoint.Authorities acting on a tip arrested driver Alejandro Hernandez and two other suspects Thursday just south of a checkpoint at Falfurrias, authorities said. The four Mexican nationals in the trailer were also taken into custody.

Documents filed in federal court Monday allege that Hernandez, 50, unloaded a delivery at a Wal-Mart in McAllen, then stopped at a truck stop in nearby Edinburg where he picked up the four immigrants.

Authorities said Leonor Gomez, 29, and her mother, Santos Gomez Moreno, had brought the immigrants to that meeting point in their van.   More from

Calling the Old Media: Five Million Illegals Have Illegal Mortgages in U.S.A.!

A single report by KFYI radio of Phoenix, Arizona highlights a shocking claim made by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD says that five million illegal aliens hold illegal mortgages. This is just one more example of the lax lending laws put into place by Democrats like Barney Frank that have contributed to this economic crisis. One would think this would be big news. But, so far we have only this one report to cover it.

There have been earlier stories of home flipping schemes that made liberal use of illegal aliens as straw buyers and the FBI has followed numerous cases to prosecution and conviction. But the Old Media have not done much with this story.  More from NewsBusters

Another great job by ICE.  The media is filled with heart-string tugging stories of these “poor people” who were arrested.  Don’t care.  Go home.  I am all for LEGAL immigration.  I want ALL illegals deported and sent home with no hope of coming back.  We need our border sealed NOW.  Those who come here illegally don’t respect this country nor our laws.  They take our jobs, drain our government gimmie programs.  There is nothing to say potential terrorists aren’t coming across Juan coming to pick lettuce.

Seal our borders – NOW!  Keep up the good job, ICE!

June 23, 2008

SAN DIEGO – Two men were arrested Friday after authorities found 12 illegal immigrants inside a tractor-trailer truck at a checkpoint in Jamul.

Agents spotted the truck, which was following a Chevy Malibu, after being told several people were seen boarding it in Tecate, said Mark Endicott, a Border Patrol spokesman.

Agents searched the truck and discovered ten men, one woman and a 17-year-old girl inside, Endicott said.

The drivers of the truck was arrested, along with the Malibu’s driver, who agents say was acting as a look out. Both are U.S. citizens and the vehicles were seized, Endicott said.

All of the people in the tractor-trailer were Mexican nationals and will be processed for deportation.

Despite the recent high temperatures, none of them suffered any heat-related injuries, Endicott said. From SignOnSanDiego

60-Plus Illegal Immigrants Found In Big Rig

SAN DIEGO — Border Patrol officials said Monday that they arrested more than 60 illegal immigrants over the weekend during a traffic stop.

Authorities said they stopped the semi truck in East County at a checkpoint near the Kitchen Creek Road exit on Interstate 8 on Saturday at about 9:15 p.m. Border Patrol officials said they interviewed the driver, who admitted being an illegal immigrant.

Border Patrol agents brought in a K-9 to search the truck, and officials said they found 61 illegal immigrants hiding behind bales of cardboard. Investigators said they believe the immigrants entered the trailer through a trap door in the floor of the trailer.

Officials said they seized the big rig and will prosecute its 29-year-old driver for immigrant smuggling. From SignOnSanDiego

FBI busts “special interest” illegals

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – FBI agents on Wednesday busted 10 people they termed “special interest illegal aliens” for allegedly trying to use fraudulent documents to get New Mexico drivers licenses.

A Motor Vehicle Division employee alerted police several weeks ago about what the employee believed to be a fraudulent attempt to get a license, according to an FBI news release.

Albuquerque police called the FBI, which worked with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement to investigate the incident.  More from KRQE

The FBI isn’t saying what country these illegals are from originally, only that “certain countries are associated with special national security concerns,”  Somehow I don’t think it was Juan coming to pick tomatoes…

Arizona Sheriff’s Sweeps on Solid Legal Ground

Maricopa County’s top prosecutor said Tuesday that the sheriff recent high-profile sweeps in metropolitan Phoenix were legal if his officers followed rules prohibiting racial profiling and unwarranted traffic stops.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio has drawn criticism that the sweeps in three heavily Hispanic areas during late March and early April were thinly veiled immigration patrols fraught with racial profiling.

The sweeps led Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon to request a federal investigation of Arpaio for possible civil rights violations. The U.S. Justice Department has declined to comment on the request. More from

Good for Sheriff Joe! Besides, stands to reason if you are in a primarily Hispanic neighborhood, you will pick up a majority of Hispanics.

Illegal Mexicans obtain ID cards from Mexico’s Officials in Carpentersville IL

Written by Dan of the Chicago Minutemen (used with permission)

”They” don’t obtain ”official documents” before hand to prove ‘they’ are Mexicans (like a passport). They throw away their Mexican driver’s licenses and telling IDs before sneaking across the USA border. This way they cannot be ID’d in USA as a Mexican when ‘illegally’ sneaking across US borders in to USA and sneaking (ten in a truck) into the Sanctuary State Of ILLINOIS.. and living here ILLEGALLY and enroll their children as students…

AS A REWARD: they get a visit from the Mexican national officials here in a Catholic church who give them ”official Mexican” ID cards.
